Wide range of NOOK products available at University Bookstore
Like to read a good book? The University
Bookstore has a wide range of NOOK products for students,
faculty and staff.
The devices, which are used to read e-books, include the NOOK
Simple Touch, NOOK Simple Touch with Glowlight, NOOK HD and NOOK
HD+.
The NOOK e-book devices are not recommended for reading digital
textbooks. However, University of Houston students can download
the NOOK Study eTextbook reader for PCs and Macs for free.
The eTextbook reader, which is by Barnes & Noble, can be
downloaded from the
website of the University
Bookstore. After downloading the application, students can try
different eTextbooks free for seven days.
Digital textbook sales are increasing in popularity. One reason
is they cost less. Students can save up to 60 percent off the
cost of new printed textbooks.
Felix Robinson, manager of the UH Bookstore, encourages students
and faculty to take advantage of NOOK Study, which integrates
many of the more popular LMS systems, including Blackboard
Learn, Moodle, Sakai and Desire2Learn.
