As the UH Policies and Procedures World Turns
An Additional Initial Review Cycle:
Helping SAMs and MAPPs With Feedback
Before the Campus Review Cycle
Starting in Quarter 3, 2011
(April/May 2011), there will be an
extra initial review cycle for
System Administrative Memoranda (SAMs)
and Manual of Administrative
Policies and Procedures (MAPPs).
This additional review cycle will
take place after the Subject Matter
Expert (SME) has delivered a
document to University Policies and
Procedures for the quarterly review
process.
Dr. Carl Carlucci, Executive Vice
Chancellor and Executive Vice
President for the Division of
Administration and Finance, will
review the quarterly submitted SAMs
and MAPPs for up to ten (10) working
days before Campus Review, and he
will provide any additional feedback
to the SME before these documents go
through the Campus Review cycle.
This additional review cycle ensures
that any needed changes for SAMs and
MAPPs will be incorporated before
Campus Review, making all
documentation more accurate and
complete for future reviewers. The
extra initial review cycle is
currently a pilot program for
Quarter 3, 2011, but we hope will
become a review process fixture in
the future.
Stay tuned for more updates! We are
changing for the better!
