Employee Spotlight - Clifford Kennedy
The UH Parking Enforcement
Department Supervisor, Clifford
Kennedy, says his day can range from
hectic and busy to challenging and
exciting. On a daily basis, he helps
students, staff and faculty with
changing tires, unlocking their
cars, towing unlawfully parked
vehicles, issuing citations and
keeping our parking lots safe and
secure.
Clifford says, The best part of my
job is getting to meet different
people every single day. Some people
dont like Parking Enforcement
because they think all we do is tow
or give citations, so I always talk
to them with a smile on my face.
Some of his most memorable times at
the University have been when a
student rode his horse to campus and
they had to confiscate the horse
until the student returned, and
also, in September 2008, when the
campus had to be evacuated because
of Hurricane Ike. Clifford says,
One of the other most exciting
times at UH was working when
basketball players - Clyde Drexler, Akeem Olajuwon, Michael Young, Larry
Micheaux and Benny Anders played
during the Phi Slamma Jamma era.
Clifford also stays very busy
outside of his job at UH. He drives
a shuttle at the Airport and was
recently a private shuttle driver
for the Houston Rodeo, Barbeque
Cook-Off Show participants. In his
spare time, he likes to play with
his grandchildren, watch sports and
the Sci-Fi channel and go on road
trips visiting friends and family.
