On Monday, May 23, 2011, the new Classroom and Business Building was scheduled for a sidewalk closure.

Linbeck Construction is closing a portion of the pedestrian sidewalk east of the Central Power Plant from May 23, 2011 to October 12, 2011 in order to install underground utilities and a new fire lane for the new Classroom and Business Building. The sidewalk closest to the Power Plant will remain open for accessibility with construction fences installed on each side.

Also, a portion of Melcher Halls northwest retaining wall sidewalk will be closed from May 23, 2011 to September 1, 2011 to allow erection of steel for the building. Rerouting of the sidewalk in this area will allow accessibility.

Please refer to the attached drawing for affected areas. The areas in red are the construction zones and the sidewalk will not be accessible for pedestrian traffic.

The areas indicated in green are sidewalks that will remain open for pedestrian traffic.

Please contact Bernie Harless, Project Manager, if you have questions related to this project at or by phone at 713-743-8049.
