Honor Guard

On Wednesday, June 27, 2012, the University of Houston Police Department (UHPD) spotlighted its newly formed Honor Guard during a swearing in ceremony at the MD Anderson Rockwell Pavilion. The Honor Guard, comprised of all volunteers, has been working as a group for over two months to perform ceremonial duties necessary for a professional honor guard. This is the first ever UHPD Honor Guard for the University of Houston. Chief Ceaser Moore congratulated the Honor Guard for their hard work and dedication.

The Honor Guard made a very strong, yet poised entrance into the Rockwell Pavilion. They presented the colors and then remained steadfast during the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance. They exited as professionally as they entered. The Honor Guard members presenting the colors on Wednesday were Officer Jason Mayorga, Officer Frank Rosas, Sergeant Damian Martinez and Officer Lessie Broussard. Their polished appearance and demeanor made the Honor Guard a sight to be seen.

The University of Houston Police Department Honor Guard will be presenting the colors at all Police Department ceremonies and functions. If you get chance to see them present the colors, take the opportunity to do so; it will be well worth your time.
