JOIN US for the first Community
Emergency Response Team (CERT)
training for the University of
Houston beginning August 2, 2011.
Classes are from 6:30 p.m. � 9:30
p.m. and will be held at the
University of Houston Department of
Public Safety�s multi-purpose
training room located at 3869
Wheeler Street. Candidates must
complete the 24-hour training to
receive their certificate. Upon
completion of the course, CERT
members will receive a graduation
certificate, Go-Kit backpack and a
safety vest.
CERT is a positive and realistic
approach to emergency and disaster
situations where your actions can
make a difference. �We look to train
the little communities within our
campus community,� said Joe Mendez,
Director University of Houston
Emergency Management Bureau. Through
training, citizens can manage
themselves and volunteer to be an
effective resource.
