Learn How You Can Do YOUR Part to Prepare UH

JOIN US for the first Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training for the University of Houston beginning August 2, 2011. Classes are from 6:30 p.m. � 9:30 p.m. and will be held at the University of Houston Department of Public Safety�s multi-purpose training room located at 3869 Wheeler Street. Candidates must complete the 24-hour training to receive their certificate. Upon completion of the course, CERT members will receive a graduation certificate, Go-Kit backpack and a safety vest.

CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where your actions can make a difference. �We look to train the little communities within our campus community,� said Joe Mendez, Director University of Houston Emergency Management Bureau. Through training, citizens can manage themselves and volunteer to be an effective resource.
