UH Printing and Postal Services 5th Annual Customer Appreciation Day

UH Printing and Postal Services hosted their 5th annual Customer Appreciation Day on Friday, June 24th. This event is held in June each year and an ice cream social is what our customers continue to request. There is something about summer and ice cream that just seem to make people happy, and that is what this event is all about.

Approximately 70 customers were in attendance this year, and they were treated to the usual array of items used to build their own sundae vanilla and chocolate ice cream plus nuts, sauces and various fixings. Besides the ice cream, they could also choose from cookies, brownies and this years most popular new treat - chocolate covered strawberries. These treats are always provided by Catering on Cullen, which makes it a real campus affair.

This event allows the UH Print and Postal staff members to actually sit down and talk to the customers whose jobs they have produced during the school year. It allows them to put a face to a name that they normally just see on their job tickets. Customers who are new to the campus or who have never come by were treated to tours of the facility as well.

Some customers were unable to attend and instead sent some special emails to the staff which express how they feel about the work we do for them. It really means a lot when we receive these types of comments:

Dear Nalan and members of the Printing and Postal Plant,

Thank you for the invitation to attend the Fifth Annual Ice Cream Social.

Unfortunately, I had a previous appointment at the time, which could not be changed; consequently, I will be unable to attend tomorrow.

The Printing Plant is a highly professional, greatly respected agency on campus. It was my pleasure to work with you for a number of years when I was associated with the Energy Laboratory and the Institute for Space Systems Operations (ISSO). Nobody could do it better than you.

Best regards,
Professor Irving N. Rothman

Sally-

I received the delightful invitation from your hard-working team for the Ice Cream Social tomorrow afternoon.

Although I will not be able to attend due to a previous engagement, I wanted to drop a note to you and your team to thank you for thinking of us here in the College of Pharmacy.

Rest assured, that when we look closely at our printing AND postal needs, we always keep your hard-working, highly skilled team in mind.

Highest Regards,
Morgan Ely

Sally,

Thanks for the invitation to this years ice cream party. It's such a lovely thing that you guys do, and I'm sorry I won't be able to attend. I did, however, want to be sure to say thanks for all that you all do for us! Stay cool. Alan
