DPS Donates Bicycles to UH Auxiliary Services

The season is upon us to celebrate
the act of giving. To close out the
2010 year, the UH Department of
Public Safety donated two lost and
found bikes to the UH Department of
Auxiliary Services.
When the Department of Public Safety
acquires a lost bicycle, we are
required to hold that bicycle for 60
days in hopes that the owner will
come to retrieve it. If efforts
fail, the bicycle is available for
donation. The Department of Public
Safety has once again made a
donation - but this time it is to a
department in the Administration &
Finance family. Stephanie Carpenter,
Office Assistant for the Department
of Public Safety and head of the
Lost and Found Retrieval effort for
the Department of Public Safety,
comments, I feel ecstatic and
excited that the bikes are going to
a program that is useful.
The Department of Auxiliary Services
will be developing a program that
allows individuals to use available
bikes for getting from point A to
point B on campus. This is part of
the Go Green initiative. More
information on the program will be
available soon.
