NEW BIKE RACKS INSTALLED
Parking
and Transportation Services has
begun installation of almost 20 new
bike racks at various locations
across campus. The new racks will
provide an additional 128 spaces for
bicycle parking.
As the number of residents
on-campus has increased, and with
more people taking advantage of the
bike racks on METRO, weve seen a
spike in the number of bikes on
campus, explained Paul Lozano,
Assistant Director of Operations for
Parking and Transportation Services.
Once this installation is complete,
bike riders will have an additional
19 racks in 10 different locations
where they can secure their bikes.
These racks are the first of
multiple phases of bike racks to be
installed across campus. Beginning
in the spring semester, PTS will
examine additional areas needing
increased bike rack capacity. We
have received feedback from the
campus asking for racks in
additional areas of campus. We will
work on placing racks in the areas
of highest demand, explained
Lozano.
