Alton Brown Live coming to Cullen Performance Hall

By Lauren Stacks

Russell Peters

American television personality and celebrity chef Alton Brown is bringing his brand of quirky humor and culinary-science antics to the University of Houston.

Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour is coming to Cullen Performance Hall at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 4.

The two-hour show is a unique blend of stand-up comedy, food experimentation, talk show antics, multimedia lecture, and live music. Audience interaction is strictly enforced throughout the evening, though if someone is called upon as a culinary assistant, they will definitely want to take the lab coat Brown offers, as things tend to get messy.

Brown has worked his weird magic on live audiences across the nation for over a decade but this is the first time he’s actually hit the road with a live tour. The entire family will have a blast, especially as they sing along with Brown’s soon to be hits “Airport Shrimp Blues” and “TV Cookin Ain’t Like No Other Cookin.”

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.entertainhouston.com, phone at 713-462-6647 or 877-COUGAR-5, or at the TDECU Stadium Ticket Office at 3750 Cullen Blvd. Ticket Office parking is located in the Stadium Parking Garage.
