On Jan. 9, Gov. Rick Perry proclaimed January as Crime Stoppers Month in Texas. He suggests that Texans attempt to combat crime and make their communities safer.
Similar to the governor’s suggestion, the police officers at the University of Houston also strive to be proactive against crime.
The University of Houston Police Department provide crime prevention programs often to the UH community through many different avenues. Some of the crime prevention programs that are offered on campus include:
Crime prevention is important to the campus community. Everyone can help by being proactive and reporting suspected crimes immediately by calling 713-743-3333. Doing so may be preventing someone else from becoming a victim of a more serious crime.
