Five win Fitbits for filling out wellness survey

During the fall semester, the Wellness Planning Work Group distributed an employee wellness survey to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff. The survey yielded a 24 percent response rate and revealed a strong employee desire for physical activity, healthy eating, weight loss and stress-management programs. Of the respondents, five lucky winners were selected to receive Fitbits to support their wellness efforts. Congratulations to prize winners:

  • Jennifer Harding, development coordinator in the UH Division of University Advancement;
  • Maria Modelska, associate director, research programs in the Cullen College of Engineering’s Severe Storm Prediction, Education and Evacuation from Disasters (SSPEED) Center;
  • Shelia Williams, executive administrative assistant in UH Human Resources
  • Lori Osborn, director of career development at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management; and
  • Michelle Cunningham, adjunct faculty in the College of Optometry.

The survey results will be used to guide UH’s new employee wellness initiative, “POWER UP.” Be on the lookout for more information throughout the year along with more resources designed to support employee health and well-being in a variety of areas, including Life+Work Success.
