Two changes made to UH Dining Services management team

UH Dining Services has announced two additions to the management team at the University of Houston central campus.

Mariani named director of operations

Shannon Mariani will be joining the team in March as the director of operations. He will guide the strategic development of a program that serves not only one of the most diverse campuses in the country, but also a campus that continues to evolve in profound ways. His passion for operational excellence will be invaluable to what is the one of the largest, and most complex, dining programs in the region.

Mariani previously served as the food service director at UT Tyler, gaining the program national recognition on multiple occasions. He has received numerous accolades for everything from his work in marketing which was featured in On Campus Hospitality magazine to his passion for the safety of his UT Tyler Dining associates, where he led an account that went accident free for four years. He also currently holds regional leadership roles within ARAMARK as well as his daily responsibilities at UT Tyler.

In his role at the University of Houston, Mariani will directly manage the residential, retail, catering and athletics operations on the central campus with five food service directors as direct reports.

Jouini promoted to senior food service director

Mohamed Jouini is being promoted from food service director to senior food service director, with his primary area of responsibility remaining the residential dining at the central campus. Under Marianis leadership, Jouinis portfolio of strategic responsibility will be expanded to leverage his unique strengths to continue to drive the growth of the program. During his tenure, he has led a high performing and innovative team that has garnered national attention for the university and its dining program.
