University of Houston Dining Services is happy to introduce Danielle McFeron as the new registered dietitian, available for free nutritional counseling for all students, staff and faculty.

Originally from the Chicago area, McFeron earned a bachelor’s degree in dietetics with minors in health and psychology from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She came to Texas to complete her dietetic internship with University of Houston.

“I'm looking forward to collaborating with both the University of Houston and Aramark to help increase the amount of healthy food options on campus,” said McFeron. “What excites me the most about this role is the opportunity to be creative and engage the students on campus to learn how we can better serve them.”

McFeron has been a registered and licensed dietitian in the Houston area for four years, previously working at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, DaVita Kidney Care and Healthbridge Children's Hospital. She counsels in many areas such as diabetes management, weight management, cardiovascular disease, wellness, grocery store tours and healthy cooking. She is also certified in adult weight management.

In her free time, McFeron enjoys cooking, working out at the YMCA and bike riding with her husband. She’s also an avid traveler, having been to Belize, Hawaii, Colorado and Illinois in the past year alone.
