Students taking advantage of after-hours Cougar Card replacement service

By Kristina Michel

Students are increasingly taking advantage of the after-hours Cougar Card replacement service provided by the Cougar Card office.

The service allows students to obtain a temporary replacement card if they misplace or lose their Cougar Card at a time when the Cougar Card office is closed. Since its inception in the fall 2013 semester, usage has steadily increased each semester.

“The fact that more and more students are taking advantage of this service shows how much it was needed,” said Deborah Davis, director of Auxiliary Services. “We’re glad to be able to provide this service for students and that it’s helping them.”

To obtain a temporary replacement Cougar Card when the Cougar Card office is closed, students may log in to AccessUH, click the Cougar Card icon and select “Report Lost Card” under the “My Card” tab. They can then go to the UH Police Department at 3869 Wheeler to pick up their temporary replacement card.

The temporary card will only last until the next business day. Temporary cardholders are responsible for getting an official replacement card at the Cougar Card office located in the Welcome Center Parking Garage, Suite 151. The Cougar Card office’s regular business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
