Director of Facilities Information, Lillian Wanjagi
As Director of Facilities
Information, Lillian Wanjagis job
requires her to know the amount of
classroom and office space that
exists on campus and to provide that
information to whoever requests it.
She first joined the University of
Houston in June 2007 and served for
two years as senior project manager
in facilities planning and
construction. She was promoted to
Director of Facilities Information
in September 2009. Her
responsibilities also include
fielding requests regarding space
assignments from those who wish to
know what space is occupied or
vacant.
Prior to coming onboard at UH, she
served at the Texas Higher Education
Coordinating Board as program
director in finance and resource
planning. Shes currently pursuing
her doctorate at UH in Education
Leadership, and obtained an MBA from
Gardner-Webb University in Shelby,
North Carolina.
Besides working, one of her favorite
activities includes attending
Houston Dynamo home games and
rooting for the team.
When asked what she likes most about
her duties, she responded, I enjoy
knowing that the information were
working on can assist the campus
community in its decision-making
process. Wanjagi also actively
participates in a classroom
taskforce committee that is
concerned with the quality of
instructional space on campus.
She said, I really enjoy working on
campus wide-initiatives and am
really excited to be at UH at this
time in history, on the journey
towards tier one.
