American Red Cross App for Smartphone Hurricane
The American Red Cross recently has implemented a new smart
phone application. The website states that they are putting
lifesaving information right in the hands of people who live in
or who visit hurricane prone areas. The University of Houston
Department of Public Safetys Emergency Management Bureau is
excited to share this information with the campus community.
Empowering the community to assist with basic hurricane
information adds an extra layer of awareness. The American Red
Cross wants everyone to: Be ready for severe weather with
Hurricane by American Red Cross. Monitor conditions in your area
or throughout the storm track, prepare your family and home,
find help and let others know you are safe even if the power is
out a must have for anyone who lives in the areas where
hurricanes are potential threats, now is the time to prepare
right at your fingertips, comments Joe Mendez, Emergency
Management Director for the University of Houston.
