The Texas Comptroller has issued a news release reminding taxpayers of the state's annual sales tax holiday scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 17 through August 19, 2012. In preparation for the new school year, taxpayers would not pay any sales tax for many back-to-school items, including pens, jeans, shoes and backpacks, priced under $100 during that weekend.
