UHPD surpasses goal for water drive

By Cindy Granier

The University of Houston Police Department collected 295 cases of bottled water to donate to a March 11 water drive for the residents of Flint, Michigan.

UH Chief of Police Ceaser Moore had challenged the UH police officers and security officers to donate 100 cases for the drive, which was sponsored by the Black Leadership Network and the Office of Community Relations and Institutional Advancement. They not only met Moore’s challenge, but surpassed it considerably.

Altogether, the drive netted 1,000 cases of water, which will be shipped to water distribution centers in Flint, where they will then be given to residents.
