Each November, the University of Houston Office of Sustainability hosts a volunteer tree planting event to celebrate Arbor Day. Being a certified Tree Campus USA institution, UH deeply values its trees and all the benefits they provide. Participating in Arbor Day helps maintain our campus canopy by replacing trees fallen from storms, age, or construction. Fruit trees have also been donated to support the UH Campus Community Garden.
This year's Arbor Day will be held Friday November 1st with volunteer shifts from 1 PM to 4 PM. In partnership with Facilities Management, the Office will be planting 200 saplings across campus.
Volunteer registration is presently closed.
