It's that time of the year when Parking and Transportation Services is busy getting ready to offer the 2020-2021 parking permits to the University of Houston community. To help you navigate the process of getting a permit for the upcoming year, here is some information to help you.

Student Priority Renewal

Priority renewal for the 2020-2021 academic year started March 4 and has been extended through May 31. This is for those who currently have a student parking permit and want to keep that exact same permit type for the 2020-2021 academic year. Current student permit holders were emailed priority renewal instructions March 4, which are also included here.

Please note: Priority renewal is NOT for students who currently don't have a permit, or those who want to change to a different permit type. These students should take part in the general student permit registration.

Student Permit Registration

Because of the COVID-19 situation, the University of Houston delayed the opening of student parking registration. Registration for 2020-2021 permits is now scheduled to open June 10. Please continue to check Parking and Transportation Services' social media channels and website for more updates.

Students will receive an email with permit registration instructions. You may choose up to four different permit options. We encourage you to make multiple selections in case your first choice is not available. You will rank each selection in order of preference.

This year, permit registration runs through Sunday, June 28. The MyParking account will be unavailable June 29-July 12. During that time, we will be making student permit assignments. You will receive an email in July notifying you which permit type you were awarded. All permits will be automatically charged to your student account and due with your Fall 2020 charges. We will begin mailing out permits July 20, so when you register, make sure your address listed in your parking account is correct.

Please note: You do NOT have to rush to register as soon as the process opens. Last year, more than 90 percent of students received their top preference when permit assignments were made.

Here are the 2020-2021 permit types and rates.
