Hard to believe the fall semester is nearing an end already, isn’t it?
Once students are finished with final exams and head out to relax and enjoy the winter break, there will be additional parking availability in our lots and garages. During this time, we lessen the restrictions on ungated lots, allowing anyone with a valid UH parking permit to park in any of them.
If this sounds familiar, it's because it is the same rules that apply in the evenings and on weekends during the semester.
This year, these relaxed rules start Monday, Dec. 9, and continue all the way through Sunday, Jan. 12. Normal restricted parking hours begin promptly at 7 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, which is the first day of the spring semester.
Park in Any Ungated Lot
Anyone with a valid UH parking permit will be allowed to park in any ungated lot on campus, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Students are not limited to parking in student zoned lots, but can also park in faculty-staff ungated lots. On the flip side, faculty and staff are allowed to park in student zoned lots, in addition to any of the faculty-staff ungated lots. Just make sure your permit is clearly visible at all times!
Here is our campus parking map that shows where all of the faculty/staff and student zoned lots are located.
Don't Park in Restricted Spaces
Please remember that these relaxed rules do not allow you to park in faculty-staff gated lots or any of the parking garages, unless you have a permit for those locations.
Parking enforcement personnel will still be out in the lots, so please make sure not to park in restricted spaces, such as disabled, reserved, 20-minute unloading and metered. If you park in a metered space, you must pay the visitor parking fee!
