The Cougar Card is the official campus access card. The Cougar Card gives you access to print documents at certain printing labs, dine at all campus food service locations, purchase beverages and snacks from vending machines, door access to academic or administrative buildings and rooms, athletic events, special events, both on-and off–campus residential housing and the recreation and wellness center.

Yes, you must upload your photo by logging into AccessUH (hyperlink to AccessUH) account and selecting the “My Photo” icon. Once you receive a notification that your photo is approved, please schedule an appointment to pick up your card.

You will receive an email indicating whether your photo is approved. If your photo is not approved, the email will explain why your photo was denied, and you will have the opportunity to upload a new photo. You can also see your approved photo in your AccessUH Cougar Card Online account.

Once your photo is approved, please schedule an appointment to pick up your card from our office, located in the Welcome Center Parking Garage, Suite 151.

A valid government-issued identification: US or Foreign Passport/Visa, US Driver’s License, US State or Federal-issued ID, US Military Card, Permanent Resident Card, Birth Certificate, or Social Security Card.

We do not mail out Cougar Cards. You must schedule an appointment to pick up your card from our office, located in the Welcome Center Parking Garage, Suite 151.

Immediately deactivate your Cougar Card by selecting the “Deactivate Card” option in the Cougar Card section of the UH Go mobile app, or log on to AccessUH (hyperlink to AccessUH) and select the Cougar Card Online icon. Select Account, Deactivate Card, then click Confirm.

After deactivating your card, please schedule an appointment to pick up your card from our office, located in the Welcome Center Parking Garage, Suite 151. Please note that you must pay a $20 fee in the Cougar Card Online portal located in AccessUH (hyperlink to AccessUH) before visiting our office during your scheduled appointment time.

Please allow 7-10 business days after confirmation of your approval email before coming to the Cougar Card Office to pick up your new Cougar Card.

A valid government-issued identification: US or Foreign Passport/Visa, US Driver’s License, US State or Federal-issued ID, US Military Card, Permanent Resident Card, Birth Certificate, or Social Security Card.

We do not mail out Cougar Cards. However, you may pick up your Card at the Cougar Card Office, Suite 151, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Your card should be activated immediately after printing for all applicable privileges.  Please allow 30 minutes for individual access privileges.

If you report your card lost or stolen after normal business hours and need your card privileges right away, you can request a temporary card by visiting UHPD. The temporary card expires the following business day, so be sure to contact the Cougar Card office to pick up your permanent Cougar Card replacement. There will be an additional fee if you do not turn in your temporary card.

Cards no longer working due to damage from normal wear and tear are considered as damage or worn. There is no replacement fee if the current card is given to the Cougar Card Office in exchange for the replacement card. If the damaged card is due to neglect or intentionally placing holes in the card, the cardholder will be charged for the current replacement cost. Please schedule an appointment to pick up your replacement card our office, located in the Welcome Center Parking Garage, Suite 151.

Yes. There is a $20.00 replacement fee for lost or stolen cards. This charge can be paid in the Cougar Card Office with cash or credit card at the time of re-issuance. The Cougar Card Office accepts all major credit cards. You may visit the Cougar Card website cougarcard@uh.edu  for a full list of service fees for replacement cards.

Our office cannot change your name or classification. The name and classification that appears on your Cougar Card will be the information that you have in your myUH Self Service account located in AccessUH (hyperlink to AccessUH). If you need to change your name or update your preferred name, please update your information in myUH Self Service before scheduling an appointment to pick up your card.
