Beginning Aug. 9, University of Houston students in need of extra financial assistance to buy textbooks for the fall semester can apply for a textbook loan.
The short-term loan offers $400 to use toward buying textbooks and school supplies at the UH Bookstore, located inside the Student Center South. Students can apply for the loan until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, and they must be used in the bookstore no later than Sept. 30. Every UH student qualifies to receive a textbook loan regardless of whether they are receiving financial aid.
To apply for a textbook loan, students should follow these easy steps:
- Log into AccessUH
- Select the myUH icon
- Select “Student Financials”
- Select “Optional Fees”
- Select the term for the loan
- Select the magnifying glass icon on the book loan row Choose BKLOAN under “Valid Value”
- Click “Save”
