New Uniforms Being Worn by Staff at Fresh Food Company

New UniformsCulinary team uniforms have been enhanced at the Fresh Food Company in Moody Towers to feature new bright colors to better serve the UH community.

“Our focal point is creating an atmosphere where our customers can receive the help they need by looking for our colorful team to assist them during service,” said Barb DeMarco, a top residential dining consultant for Aramark.

University of Houston Dining Services culinary managers created a specific color that highlights managers, chefs and pod captains at the Fresh Food Company, one of two dining halls serving the UH campus.

“Our managers wear white shirts with black slacks, our sous chefs wear red chef’s coats with chef’s hats and our pod captains wear Fresh Food Company green coats to highlight the particular captains at all four pod stations,” said DeMarco.

The management team at the Fresh Food Company has created pod captains, who are responsible for maintaining and assisting new hires during training at their assigned stations.

“Our new pod captains allow us to enhance our new employee program and establish the expectations for our service and safety standards,” said DeMarco. “The pod captains work with new employees and assist them in training to learn and develop the needed serving skills for their station.”
