Food Truck Takeover at Moody 1Food Truck Takeover 2University of Houston Dining Services hosted The Food Patty Wagon, a classic American food truck, as part of the monthly Food Truck Takeover promotion on Thursday, Nov. 15, at Moody Dining Commons. Students received their “Famous Philly Cheesesteak” bites at the Global Kitchen station during lunch. More than 1,200 guests were served.

Pat Jackson, owner of The Food Patty Wagon and Miss Patty’s Wagon food trucks, was delighted with the exposure this event gave her business.

“It was amazing! The level of exposure was great and has surely cultivated new customers on campus for us,” she said.

The Food Truck Takeover series began this past February as a program to introduce residential students to the campus food truck program, foster a greater partnership with UH Dining’s food truck partners, and create excitement in the residential dining experience. The promotion is included as part of a meal swipe or the door rate.

“We’re constantly trying to get our students excited about what we’re doing,” said Alexander Brugger, senior executive chef for UH Dining. “They love food trucks, so why not give them a taste of street food as part of their meal plan experience?”
