International / National

Provided support for Sister Dorothy. (December 1-5, 2000). Arranged for tours of private and public schools. Met with doctoral students. Researched topic using university facilities.

Provided help with registration at the American Educational Research Association. On the Threshold of the 21st Century. (April 19 - 23 2002). Montreal, Canada.

Provided support for Catholic Schools (Sister Dorothy) from Pocatello, Idaho. (December 1-5, 2000, 2002).  Arranged for tours of private and public schools. Met with doctoral students. Researched topic using university facilities.

Supported Ms. Sue O’Donovan, teacher at Lambrook Haileybury School, Berkshire England and son Chris in three months stay in Houston Medical treatment (T-Cells) Returned to England 1/27/99; to return in April.

Arranged Emma McKendrick’s (From Downe House, England) school visit and Dinner with 20 G/T graduate students. She visited from October 25th November 1st. Acknowledged in the Houston Chronicle with photo and narrative of teacher Missy Nichols and students (Alvin). Jan. 1999; other regional newspapers photographed and cited our teachers teaching gifted students.

Developed a theoretical basis for creative activities as a basis for curriculum delivery with Dr. Ming Fae Hui at the Hong Kong Institute of Education (Winter, 1997). Outlined two articles; one she will be the lead researcher and the second I will be the lead researcher. Spent 40 clock hours working with her here during the University of Houston winter break.

Arranged a two-day experience for sixteen teachers and two professors from Fayetteville, NC (state university) to NASA and to T. H. Rogers Elementary School, the Honors College and as guests to come to an Interactive Television Class on the topic of identifying gifted students. 

Arranged Raija Vaisanen’s (From The School for the Visually Impaired in Jyvaskyla, Finland) trip to various schools in the Houston area.

Invited by Professor Monks at the Center for the Development of Giftedness in Nijmegen, Netherlands January 1999. SABBATICAL

Invited to present at the international schools in Mexico (Spring, 1999).

November 1998. - Support to Dr. Howard Jones’ international program; also wrote comprehensive exam questions for three of his students

Evaluated the G/T Program for African American Students at Rockford Public Schools in Rockford, Illinois. March 1998. (3 days);.

Invited to St. Edwards. Edinburgh, Scotland by Dr. Judith McClure (on our next visit to London...since the school is only 6hrs (train) away from center London)

Established The Royal School Scholarship (1,000 lbs.);

Organized and updated the curriculum for an overseas group (N=10) to study the education of gifted students in London (Summer 1996) England 1996-1997.

Served as an OM State Judge at the Twelfth Texas OM Tournament April 4-5, 1998 in Houston.

Blanca Maldonato requested information of skills needed to be a doctor. Received $1,000 scholarship. Acknowledged in Houston Chronicle. August 1998.

Endowment Developed

Developed an endowment to provide research scholarships for teachers of gifted and talented students to ensure appropriate education for gifted and talented students. At the time that the value reaches one million dollars, scholarships will be made available from the earned interest. (1982-present).
