Clefs and the Piano Keyboard

Memorizing the patterns of "line notes" and "space notes" of the treble and bass clefs is a useful strategy in learning to read music.

The Grand Staff

Keyboard music is often notated on the "grand staff" with both treble and bass clef.

Ledger lines

Ledger lines are used to accomodate notes that are too high or too low to be written on the staff.
