· What is WebCT Vista?

WebCT Vista is the latest version of an online course shell that helps instructors put course material online. Campus Edition is the older version already used by many UH professors.

· Will my classes use WebCT Vista?

For Spring 2004, only these classes will use Vista: HDCS 3301 (Stewart), HDCS 3304 (Stewart), HDCS 4300 (Stewart), HRMA 3352 (Chernish), HRMA 6336 (Chernish), MANA 7356 (Hubbard), and PSYC 3310 – section 07180 (Hysong). Other courses and sections will continue to use WebCT Campus Edition for this semester. You may have courses in both systems. Your instructors decide if they will use WebCT.

· How will I get my WebCT Vista user name?

Your Vista user name will be the same as your WebCT ID for WebCT Campus Edition.

You can get your Vista user name in one of these ways:

1)     Online at http://www.uh.edu/webct - click “New Users” to get your Vista user name.

2)     In person in Room 56 in the basement of the MD Anderson Library on the main campus, Monday-Friday, 8 am to 8 pm.

3)     By phone at 713-743-1411 Monday-Friday 8 am to midnight and Saturday-Sunday noon to 8 pm.

· Your Vista user name will work AFTER the first day of class.

· If you register late, allow 3 working days AFTER you register for a class for your Vista user name to be created and added to the class.

· WebCT is case sensitive, so type your Vista user name in all lower case letters.

· What’s my password?

Your initial password is your birth date in the format mmddyyyy. For example: April 1, 1983 would be entered as 04011983. You should change your password the first time you log on to WebCT Vista. WebCT Vista is on a separate server from WebCT Campus Edition, so you need to keep track of the password on each server. They both start as your birthdate.

· Where do I find my WebCT Vista courses?

Once you have your Vista user name, go to http://www.uh.edu/webct  and click “WebCT Vista” in the lower right hand corner. Enter your Vista user name and password. Remember it is case sensitive.

· How do I get help using WebCT Vista?

Go to http://www.uh.edu/webct and click on “Get Help” to see a variety of options. Students can also call 713-743-1411 or send email to support@uh.edu.
