PhD Project: Aug. 2006- Present "Emplacement of Bela and Muslim Bagh Ophiolites and Timing of India Asia Collision in Western Pakistan," using Geochemistry and Remote Sensing/GIS methods.

Research Interests: Remote Sensing/GIS, Geochemistry, Sedimentology, Sequence Stratigraphy, Seismic interpretation

Technical Proficiencies: ARCGIS/ENVI, Fieldspec Pro, Triton BathyPro™, ICP-AES/MS

Activities: Member of AGU, GSA, AAPG

 

Research Experience

  • Jan. 2003- Aug. 2005: Core member of the project "Quaternary Stratigraphy in the East China Sea and its response to different time-scale sea level change" funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Helped to interpret shallow seismic data, recognized some of the sand ridges on the East China Sea shelf (100m water depth) which are moving SW and not stable.
  • Jul. 2001-Dec. 2004: Core member of the project "Provenance Analysis of the large-scale late-Pleistocene sub-aqueous delta on the continental shelf of East China Sea" funded by NSFC. I extracted clay and analyzed it with ICP-MS, found out the source is from Yangtze River, not from yellow river or the combination of Yangtze and yellow river.
