PSYC. 3350 - INTRO. TO COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY
COURSE REQUIREMENTS

 
                                                              
I.  LECTURES -  please read the assigned readings BEFORE the appropriate class.This is very important if we are to have meaningful class discussions.  Look at what John Anderson has to say about studying a text. 


II.  EXAMS, QUIZZES & PAPERS - ten vocabulary "pop Quizzes" will be given in which you will be asked to give the definition for one term in the assigned reading. Three multiple choice exams (50 questions) and a comprehensive final (75 questions) will be given.  In addition, each student will be required to write a 5-7 page paper that is to be turned in at the end of the semester.  Explicit instructions will be handed out during class.  Research participation is also required. 


III.  GRADES - Your grades will be based upon a 500 point system.  Your lowest grade (not including the final) will be dropped.  10 vocabulary "pop quizzes", in which you will be asked to give the definition for one term in the assigned reading will account for 5 points per quiz.  You will earn up to 25 points for participation as a subject in an approved experiment.  A maximum of 75 points can be earned for the final paper assignment.

450 - 500 = A

400 - 499 = B
350 - 399 = C
 300 - 349 = D 
     299 -0      = F
