I. Course Description
A quantitative introduction to fundamental concepts of quantum mechanics
with
applications to atomic structure and spectra
and other systems.
II. Course
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to 1) understand
the basic
ideas of the topics listed above and to 2)
solve quantitative problems of those topics.
III. Textbook
"Introduction to Quantum Mechanics", David J. Griffiths,
2nd Edition.
IV. Course Content
Chapters 1-6.
V. Course Structure
Lectures plus questions and answers with discussions of homework
problems.
