Economic theory has been, and continues to be, a powerful means of generating testable predictions concerning economic behavior. Unfortunately, the set of interesting theoretical problems in economics isn't the same as the set of problems that have nice closed-form solutions. Luckily, with the advance of computing power has come a new type of methodology--computational economics. Like experimental economics, computational economics is not so much a distinct field as it is a set of tools.
Because this area is growing rapidly, the list of computational economics sites below will always be horribly inadequate. More will be added as I find them, and if you know of a site, please let me know.
