Will of Lemuel C. Dey - 1801 -1876

Lemuel C. Dey was the son of William Dey and Lucenia Groom and the grandson of Captain John Dey and Mary Baird.

Know all men by these presents that I Lemuel C. Dey of the town of Almond and County of Allagany and State of New York do make and publish this will and testament in manner and form following. This is to say it is my will and I do order direct that all my just debts and funerel expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as convently can be after my decease.

I do give to my beloved wife Lettitia G. Dey the use of my farm on Jersey Hill, town of Birdsall and County of Alleghany and State of N.Y. on sec No 8 one hundred & fifty acre. I do bequeath to my bealoved wife the use of my farm during her natural life in leu of her rite of dowery in my estate. I also give to my wife all the house hold furniture and kitchen goods that belongs to me.

I beaqueath the said farm at the death of Lettitia to Wim W. Dey my beloved son to him his heirs and assigns free and clear from all incumbrances. I bequest to my beloved son William W Dey all my farming utensills, wagon, plow and so forth.

I do bequeath to Lucy E. Wise a house and lot in Dunkirk Lane on front street South side forty feet west of Zebra street, Chatangua Co. N.Y.. I do bequeath to my beloved daughter Lucy E. Eise this house and lot free and clear from all incumbrance to her, her heirs and assigns. I bequeath the deed that I got from Joseph Nelson that will discribe the Lot. I do bequeath to Lucy E. Wise my daughter five hundred dollars to be paid her in one year after my decease.

By my Executor in whom I will appoint. Lastly I nominate, consititue and appoint William W. Dey my beloved son and Lucy E. Wise my beloved daughter executor of my last will and testament. Rattifying Confirming this to be my last will and testament and no other in witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of August Eighteen hundred and seventy six.
