At this stage, I know very little about the Butler Family Lineage. I am indebted to Buck Clary and his wife Linda (Butler) Clary, Mississippi, for access to their information.
Geographic Names Information System Online Data Base Query Form is an invaluable resource for locating cities, towns, etc. which do not exist on toady's maps. The latitude and longitude for Federal and Pennsville, Ohio, for example, are known from older maps. These data then access the Tiger Mapping System of the U.S. Census Bureau which does not "recognize" Renrock, for example.
In particular, I am interested in obtaining addition photographs (especially pre John Eldon Butler) that may be available. In such research there are always questions. Those that occur to me include:
Who were Quincy A. Butler's parents and when did he move to New Garden, Pennsylvania? What was his middle name -- Adams?
Who settled Pennsville, Ohio? Was it a Quaker community?
Why was John Eldon born in Federal, Ohio instead of Pennsville? Did the family move?
This list could go on and on and most questions will probably never be answered .... but that is part of the fun.
