Genealogy - Action/Adventure (Espionage)
|=- Decades ago, after the era of the action heroes, writers decided to create a different type of action heroes mainly for the reason as the audience’s immunity to explosions and destruction was growing to a uncomfortable position. The characters of these new films would be different, as they would not fit the typical hero body texture. Instead they would be more of the smaller, weaker, but clever type of heroes. The “spies of the silver screen” as so they were called were created for the sole purpose as to be “where all dreams are possible and where heroes that were, always will be.” In 1928 Fritz Lang produced the very first espionage film known as “Spies.” For a silent movie during that time period, the movie received fairly high ratings. The audiences of our time were so awed that this movie was labeled as “the pre-ultimate Bond film.” Such movies created after that gained the equivalent respect were Mission Impossible (1996), Navy Seals (1990), Mission Impossible 2 (2000), and many more. All these films fall under the espionage sub-genre and represent the genre very well. |
