Prospect Generation: Extensive experience in the evaluation and generation of prospects for oil and gas exploration, Gulf of Mexico. Participation in federal lease sales, joint drilling ventures, farm-ins and farm-outs which required (1) analysis of prospects, (2) working closely with geophysicists and engineers, (3) maintaining updated information regarding nearby drilling activity and results, (4) communicating with geologists from other companies, (5) preparation of reports/visual displays, and (6) making presentations/recommendations to management.
Well-Site Coordinator: I was involved in several joint-drilling ventures where Getty Oil/Texaco was operator. I was required to (1) be on site during well logging operations in order to ensure quality down-hole measurements, (2) prepare and distribute daily drilling reports to partners, (3) schedule and coordinate operations with various service companies and (4) make frequent presentations and recommendations to management regarding drilling progress.
Well Log Analysis: Experience in correlation and analysis of well logs for purposes of (1) constructing stratigraphic cross-sections, (2) tying wells to seismic lines, (3) preparing structural, paleoenvironmental, isopach and hydrocarbon distribution maps and (4) calculating formation properties such as porosity, sand/shale ratios and oil saturation.
Seismic Interpretation: Experience in correlation and interpretation of seismic reflection data for seismic stratigraphical analysis and construction of structure maps to identify potential hydrocarbon traps.
Paleontology: Utilization of fossil data to construct regional paleoenvironmental maps for purposes of identifying time-specific facies distribution patterns and hydrocarbon trends.
Basin Analysis/Tectonic Interpretation: Strong knowledge of plate tectonics, mechanisms of rifting, basin subsidence curves, sedimentation profiles and their identification using seismic stratigraphy.
Organic Geochemistry: Good working knowledge of organic and stable isotope geochemistry as related to source-rock maturation and identification, paleoenvironmental interpretation, mixing processes and fluid migration pathways.
