COMPUTER EXPERIENCE

WebCT: I am certified in WebCT Levels I and II with extensive experience designing WebCT based internet courses.

Geographic Information System: Familiarity with the UNIX environment and ARC/INFO version of GIS on Sun workstations.

Database Management: Creation, organization and manipulation of data files used for plotting, statistical analysis, arithmetic operations and graphical display. Applications include KaleidaGraph, CricketGraph (Macintosh) and Arc/Info (UNIX)

Graphics: Extensive graphical experience in creating professional maps, illustrations and posters from scanned images and freehand. Applications include Canvas, Studio 8, Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop.

Word Processing: Extensive experience in using word processing applications for generating, editing, manipulating and revising professional documents and manuscripts: Microsoft Word and general knowledge of vi (UNIX).

Programming: I have experience programming in C++, C# and JAVA languages. I wrote various programs in Basic Language for modeling of geochemical data with results published in several scientific journals. I also have a good working knowledge of webpage design and HTML.

Internet: Frequent user of electronic mail (Macintosh Eudora) and World Wide Web (NETSCAPE AND EXPLORER). Experience in setting up my own web page using HTML and Java programming languages.

Goals: I continue to improve my knowledge and skills in C++, C#, Java and HTML programming. My goal is to expand my research and teaching to the internet not only in terms of visual displays, but also user interactive programs through the use of applets. I also hope to further develop my computer and programming skills through job-related assignments, in-house training and college courses.
