"sein" is used with masculin and neuter nouns
examples: 1) - Wer ist das?

                    - Das ist sein Haus (n), sein Tisch (m) und seine Tafel (f)

                2) - Wer ist das?
                    - Das ist Barbara
                    - Was ist das?
                    - Das ist ihr Haus (n), ihr Tisch (m) und ihre Tafel (f)

- Make sure you know all the words and phrases we dealt with last time, especially from the dialog on page 52 and the adjectives and nouns on page 53, as well as the nouns on the picture on page 55
- Grammar: Read throug and learn the section on Plural on page 60 / 61 !!!

1) Study for Quiz:

    a) Plural endings and how to use them ( page 60 / 61)
    b) Nominative and Accusative case and how to use them (page 62)
    c) Weak masculine nouns (page 63)
    d) Words (know all words we dealt with since the last quiz)
    e) express your likes using verb + gern (page 57 / 58)
    f) express your likes using th word moegen
        => for those who were not inclass on Wdnesday: ich mag, du magst, er/sie/es mag,
            wir moegen, ihr moegt, sie/Sie moegen. (not in the book in this chapter!)
            Using the modal verb moegen you don't need another verb in that sentence.

Study for quiz:
1) Simple Past Tense of "haben" and "sein" (p.190)
2) Simple Past Tense of Modals (p. 191)
3) Present Perfect Tense (p.213 - 218)
For the Present Perfect Tense I expect you to know the different patterns (weak, strong, mixed, inseperable prefix, seperable prefix and -ieren). Please know all the words given on page 214 (in the box) and on page 214 - 215 (not only the verbs in the box, but all verbs listed on these two pages). You also have to know for which verbs you have to use a form of "sein" (to be) instead of "haben" as a auxilary verb.
