  • The new semester is underway and you're thinking: I DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING FROM LAST SEMESTER!  Keine Panik!  There is help, and it's on-line:
  • Peter Gölz in Canada has a very nifty page with lots of links(including to this page!) and sound files to help you get information and practice your listening comprehension.
Gary Smith has put together pages with practice on German grammar and pronunciation.
And Vassar College has put the computer exercises for the first-year text book, Deutsch heute on-line for extra practice (and perhaps to violate copyright restrictions?)
Get extra practice or just a review with this basic German Language Course on the web.
To make full use of these web resources, you'll need a fast connection and a computer with audio capability; the free, RealAudio player will also be necessary for some of the links.
  •  ß Personally, I refuse to abandon old "ß" after spending so many years perfecting its graceful form, but if you want to be ready for the new spellings, you need to learn about the Rechtschreibreform. The keepers of this page are quite happy with the changes, but then, they probably say "wegen dem," too!

  • Below I have some teaching resources for Schindler's List and the Holocaust.

  •
  • Lots of information about recycling from the people who brought you the , Duales System Deutschland. They are even willing to explain it to you in English.

  •
  • Need a German book but can't afford to fly over and get it?  Here are two services that can order what you need:

  • Ibis will ship you any German book in print at very fair prices.  You can order on-line after calling or faxing them with your billing information.

  • Under no circumstances can I recommend that you order books from a California-based outfit that calls itself "Buchwurm."  This place is nothing more than a front for Nazi and Holocaust revisionist propaganda.
