Guidelines for Research Proposal Bibliography and Update

Submit a preliminary bibliography of at least five entries and a report on your activities by October 21; suggested length, 3 pages. Submit either on paper in class or on-line using the Turnitin.com drop-box on Blackboard/Vista.  5 points possible.

I suggest using MLA (Modern Language Association) style for your bibliography entries, since it is most commonly used in the humanities, but if you are used to another style from a different discipline (science or social science) that is also all right, as long as your information is complete and accurate.

Here is a brief and clear online guide to MLA style bibliography entries:

When you report on your activities you can summarize some things you have found out so far, identify areas you want to pursue, explain changes in direction, offer initial thoughts on how your project topic will be related to some of the course material, etc.
