The "Evasion" of Philosophy

West refers to an "evasion" of "EPISTEMOLOGY-CENTERED PHILOSOPHY.

EPISTEMOLOGY = "EPISTEME" (Knowledge) + LOGOS (theory of).

This refers to philosophy as done by Descartes and Kant, the founders ("fathers") of modern philosophy.

West actually thinks that the "evasion" of this kind of philosophy is a GOOD THING. Why?
