For visitors w/ hotel accommodations:
If you requested hotel accommodation for Friday night, we will make reservations for you at the Hilton University of Houston Hotel. This is located on campus, and is just a few minutes' walk from the conference building. You may check into the hotel either before the conference begins (but note your room may not yet be ready, as the normal check-in time is 3pm), or after 5pm when the last paper presentation ends.
If you are driving, here are the additional instructions for you:
I think all of you are approaching from the north. So, the directions are: (1) Take I-45 South to exit # 44b, Spur 5. (2) Follow Spur 5 to University Dr. (3) Make a right on University Drive. (4) Pass Calhoun and make a left after the visitors booth. (5) The parking garage will be on your right (the garage is underneath the hotel).
You can get personalized directions to the hotel here: http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/texas/hilton-university-of-houston-HOUUHHF/maps-directions/index.html.
When you check in (either before the conference begins although your room may not yet be ready, or after 5pm when the last paper presentation ends), you will inform the front desk that you wish to have overnight parking. The clerk will give you a pass that gives you in and out parking garage access, and the single parking fee will be paid for as part of your hotel bill.
For other visitors:
The closest visitor parking lot to the conference building is the Welcome Center Parking Garage. The directions are: (1) Take I-45 South to exit # 44b, Spur 5. (2) Follow Spur 5 to UH University Dr. (3) The visitor entrance to the Welcome Center Parking Garage will be on your right, before you reach Wheeler. We will have parking validation tickets for you if you make this request in advance.
