WRC Open House - Fall 2007

Over 150 students, staff and faculty attended the annual Fall Open House at the Women's Resource Center.
WRC staff, Gloria Smith, added to the occasion's festive air by decorating with streamers and balloons. The
door prizes were a big hit. There was a lot of excitement for the winners of the iPod shuffles, which included a
UH Police Officer and UH Student. The officer said she planned to give the iPod to her son who returns next
month from Iraq. Many other folks won a WRC bright red metallic coffee mug. The 1/2 chocolate and 1/2
yellow cake was tasty, too.
The Open House increased the visibility of the Women's Resource Center while encouraging people to
come check us out and see what we do. We were able to introduce many people to our services. Most
attendees also signed up for the WRC listserv so they can recieve weekly announcements of all of our activities.
We have many exciting events planned for the fall including: Love your Body Day, the Great American SmokeOut,
National Coming Out Day, plus our regularly scheduled weekly activities. Join us!
