Older, nontraditional students may have very different needs than their younger college counterparts. Instead of thinking about dating and partying, often older students are more focused on balancing their school work and home life. Mortgages and child care compete with homework and exams. Although there are some disadvantages to being an older student (having less energy and needing more sleep), many nontraditional students find benefits as well. For instance, they are often more focused on their course work and more motivated to learn.  Often they have the maturity and self-confidence to ask questions in class and seek out the professor after class.

If this describes you, you are a perfect candidate for our support and networking group, LifeSpan.  Older, nontraditional students, both male and female, come together to meet others, share concerns, and receive support.    Occasionally we have a special speaker, theme, or even take an on-campus field trip.  Come and join us.
