Lead Well

LeadWELL

Co-Sponsored by LeadUH and UH Wellness

Learning to lead yourself is just as important as learning to lead others. Through Lead WELL, students will learn the importance of self-care and balance as it relates to leadership. Topics such as time management, stress management, self-care and more will be explored. Development of these skills are crucial to a healthy life and organization.

Core Courses (required)

This workshop will introduce participants to the benefits of integrating self-care behaviors into daily life, particularly within the context of balancing various leadership roles and responsibilities. Specific learning topics will include stress-management, setting personal boundaries, coping with perfectionism, and practicing self-compassion. By participating in this workshop, students can expect to learn practical strategies for reducing stress and learning to lead with a greater sense of empathy, both for themselves and others. Facilitated by UH Wellness and CAPS.

Reflection

Upon completion of their four hours, participants will be required to complete a capstone reflection paper that will be reviewed by UH Wellness.  This will provide each participant the opportunity to reflect on what they have learned in LeadWell, and what changes they can make in their daily lives to enhance their well-being.  To complete this last part of the curriculum, contact Dr. Patrick Lukingbeal, Director of UH Wellness.  From there, the prompt will be given to each student.
