How does Weekend U work?

Weekend U courses are held Saturdays on the UH campus. Classes are scheduled between 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and are taught by the same qualified instructors that teach other UH courses.

Most classes meet face-to-face like any other traditional classes. Some courses are hybrid, which combine traditional classroom instruction with a significant amount of instruction delivered online.

What are core curriculum courses?

Core curriculum courses are required for the completion of all bachelor’s degrees.

Currently, UH requires 42 credit hours of core curriculum courses in the following areas: Communication (6); Mathematics (3); Life and Physical Sciences (6); Language, Philiosophy & Culture (3); Creative Arts (3); American History (6); Government/Political Science (6); Social Behavioral Sciences (3); Mathematics/Reasoning (3); and Writing in the Disciplines (3).

What courses are offered?

Please refer to the course listing on the main page of the site for the current listing of Weekend U courses.

Weekend U courses are core curriculum classes that are offered on Saturdays during the Fall and Spring semesters. During the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, UH also offers other non-core curriculum courses.

In order to find a complete list of available Saturday courses, go to AccessUH or the UH Course Listing, and select “Sat” under “Days of Week.”

Who can register for Weekend U courses?

In order to register for Weekend U courses, you must be a current UH student.

How do I register for Weekend U courses?

Using AccessUH, students register for Weekend U courses the same way as other courses.

Weekend U courses cost the same as other similar courses.

What parking is available for Weekend U?

On Saturdays, students have the option of parking in any surface lots that are not reserved for faculty and special events.

During the Fall semester when there are UH football games, students can park in designated areas, and will be notified via e-mail.
