DO NOT attempt to re-order documents within a term to achieve a perfect chronology, since it will invalidate other references to re-named documents. A document written in Notepad will copy into the site without any complicating code. Avoid more complicated coding. 1300: T1306 A: Abbot of Tichfield v. Thomas le Ray, Thomas Whyting, John Sygar, Henry le Ray, Richard le Porter & Robert Blaunchard assessors and collectors of tallage in the town of Southampton. Abbot claimed that he and his tenants should be free of tallage, and king ordered the tallage taken already to be returned. [2] T1309 A: Orders to Southampton and Great Yarmouth to confiscate goods of East Frisians to compensate Henry Potman citizen and merchant of London, whose three ships had been boarded in East Frisia and looted of 110 pounds and 40 pounds of goods. 1325: E1346 A: Rex v. William Brangwayn de London. John Beauflour lieutenant of Raymund Sigyn bulter of the king attached 90 tuns of wine of different merchants in different ships at Southampton in the presence of Nicholas Love then mayor and the then bailiffs for the use of the king. Brangwayn asserted that the wine was his and made security to the mayor and bailiffs that he would convey the wine to London for delivery to the king's butler.
