Amys v Wildes

  • William Amys of Ipswich co Suffolk marchant. And where also your said subject October 17 Eliz delivered to John Wyldes of Ipswich marchant 27 lasts and a half of Crowne asshes of the value of CCCC li of lawful money of England. John Wildes being to sell the goods in Flanders on Amys behalf. Wilde was going to Flanders on his own business and as a factor for others. The goods were sold to unknown buyers and the money received. On his return from Flanders Wilde gave neither account nor money to Amys, both of which he had promised. Suit was brought against John Wilde in Guildhall of the City of London and Wilde brought George Wilde also of Ipswich a clothier as a witness, who swore that an account had been made and accepted.
