  • Thomas Aldworth of Bristol merchant, Robert Dowe citizen and merchant Taylor of London and John Bythesea of Axbridge in Somerset tanner. John Carr late of the City of Bristol gent deceased was seised of property in Congresbury [Somerset] also endowment or establishment of Queen Elizabeth hospital in Bristol. STAC 5/A5/9
  • W.A. Sampson, A History of Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital, Bristol (Bristol, 1910). But it does not seem to contain any reference speciifcally to a Star Chamber case regarding the School’s property, although there were court cases regarding the founder’s will and a judicial adjudication.
